This is definitely a question I have asked on multiple occasions.
So we were unable to secure the services of Marcus the visual (we still think he is amazingly talented by the way) However, We stumbled on Nii Lantey Badu. He is an artist based out of Ghana. This young man is TALENTED. We had to hire him. Somehow he has this amazing way of taking our imagination and putting his flavor to it to create something absolutely incredible! He handles all art work for the anime and as a bonus he is an amazing 3d modeler so he handles that as well. Take a look at some of his artwork. Please remember this has been a process. He has only been with us since June 1st and we could not be happier. To the right is the very first character commission/sketch he did for us (this is when we knew we had the right guy)
To be fair we stumbled upon him fairly randomly.
We had already paid 4 artist to do the work for us. All artists were provided the same parameters and we wanted to give them a chance to create the character based off some photos and clothing style. However we were not entirely satisfied with the results we received back. The results are below. Not bad art but clearly not in the art style we were looking for.
So actually, I came across Nii’s work on Facebook. There was this beautifully modeled 3D bike he did for commission work. I attempted to buy which he promptly shut me down however through our conversation I mentioned I was looking for a 2D artist as well. He Let me know he could do it and this is what he sent back. I knew then we had found our guy and we worked on crafting a unique art style for UNYVERSE. So happy with the results. What is meant to be will be This is a match made perfectly!
